When I (Tony the Balloon Guy) started out in this business, I used to do balloon twisting on summer nights at Sunsets at Pier 60 in Clearwater Beach.
There, I met a lot of great people – Dallas the juggler/fire show guy, Roby the caricature artist, Al the human statue, Steve the alien, fellow balloon artist Patrick Brown, and, of course, Mark and Debbie Obarka, who did the bird show.
Debbie also used to do the bird show at Busch Gardens in Tampa, and they’ve worked at other venues around the country.
I knew my bird friends had moved to Las Vegas, where they operate The Jackpot Bird Show, and I am in touch with them from time to time. When Face Painter Phyllis got our pet turkey (yes, I know…) to carry the newspaper from the gate to our house, Debbie wrote to praise how smart a bird he was. Thanks, Debbie!
But I didn’t realize until today that Debbie was on “America’s Got Talent.” Yay, Debbie!!!
