Mickey Mouse Balloons and Face Painting With Florida Balloon Artist and Face Painter for Birthday Parties and Other Special Events

Monday, February 11th, 2013

Saturday was a Mickey Mouse day for me (Tony the Balloon Guy) and Face Painter Phyllis.

It started with a Mickey-themed birthday party in Tampa, where, yes, I did make a big Mickey Mouse out of balloons for the birthday boy.

Then back to Brooksville to pick up the missus for two hours of balloons and face painting at a Disney-princesses birthday party in Orlando.

After that, hours of shopping (whee!!!) on International Drive, where Mickey’s face was EVERYWHERE.

That is one popular mouse!!!

:-)

By the way, more than a thousand families like yours have invited our family business to celebrate birthdays with them. We are also a favorite at school, church, company and corporate events, including fairs, festivals, holiday parties and grand openings.

We’ve performed on the world’s largest cruise ship and at events for The Tampa Bay Lightning pro hockey team, Bank of America, and even Disney Parks and Resorts. What can we do for YOU? At special events throughout the Tampa Bay area and Central Florida, we provide:

Please click on the activities above for information and pictures. Then pick one, or mix and match to create a package and SAVE MONEY!

So how do people get entertainment for parties and special events?

  • You can pay an agent, party/event planner, total entertainment company, or other middleman a commission on each entertainer they hire for you. Even if they refer to “our face painters” or “our balloon artists,” they are charging you to hire someone. Sometimes even the person answering the phone is getting a cut, and only being paid if you book the party or event! Of course, in this modern Internet Age, you could hire entertainers yourself and NOT pay commissions. Wouldn’t it be funny if a middleman hired US for you, when you could have booked us yourself without paying a commission? It happens!!!
  • You can spend time hiring entertainers yourself. By cutting out the middleman, you save the commissions. But you still pay full price for each entertainer if you’re hiring more than one, such as a balloon artist AND a face painter.
  • We can provide your event entertainment, and give you a DISCOUNT for combining entertainers. You save money because WE’RE the professional entertainers. And you can read our testimonials and/or see us in action at one of our weekly open-to-the-public appearances (click here for days, times and locations) to check out the quality of our entertainment!

Be sure to get our quote before you book entertainment for your event!

Have a fun day!

Clearwater Face Painter & Clearwater Balloon Artist: Photos Legit!

Tuesday, January 8th, 2013

“Thank you!!!! For an amazing party today! The kids as always loved you!!!”
-Nicole Santana

Today while Face Painter Phyllis was booking us a birthday party on the phone, the caller asked if all the photos of balloons and face painting throughout our website were of our own work.

I (Tony the Balloon Guy) understand the question. It’s very common for entertainers to search the web for photos and then present them as their own work. I have even found the following picture of a balloon hat I made in 2005 or 2006 on the website of a balloon artist in England!

So yes, if you’ve wondered, the pictures of balloon sculptures, balloon decor/decorationsface painting and magic shows on TonyTheBalloonGuy.com and this blog are all our own work!

Tampa Balloon Artist, Face Painter, Pony Rides, Magic, etc. – Business Is Still Booming!

Monday, December 31st, 2012

“Thank you!!!! For an amazing party today! The kids as always loved you!!!”

I (Tony the Balloon Guy) just booked a party with a dad who said he had tried to phone other children’s entertainers in our area of Florida, but their phones were all disconnected!

This was the first time we ever had to reassure a customer that we would still be in business when the party date rolls around.

We’re sad to hear that some other folks are bowing out of the industry, but we’re still going strong, and ready to party!!!

Tampa Balloon Artist Seeing Double – and Triple!!!

Friday, December 7th, 2012

“Thank you!!!! For an amazing party today! The kids as always loved you!!!”
-Nicole Santana

Tomorrow, I (Tony the Balloon Guy) make my second annual appearance at a Christmas party for the Tampa Bay Area Moms of Multiples.

This is especially fun for me, because, although I’m not a MOM of multiples, Mrs. Balloon Guy (Face Painter Phyllis) IS.

The junior members of our family business are triplets.

Last night at our regular Thursday night restaurant, a man found out that our kids are triplets, and introduced himself to them as also a triplet. An IDENTICAL triplet. And he was my age or a little older. Back then, multiples were a lot more rare.

Interesting!

Orlando Balloon Artist is 25% Off! Time to Celebrate!!!

When I (Tony the Balloon Guy) told the missus (Face Painter Phyllis) that my weight was down to 209 lbs, she asked, “Weren’t we supposed to get you at cake at 210?”

That’s hilarious, but she’s right!

No, not about the cake, but I had forgotten that 210 lbs was my biggest along-the-way-to-just-right goal.

See, I had gotten up as high as 280 lbs, so losing 70 lbs was one quarter of me gone.

Poof!

Well, it has taken many months, so it was more like pssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssst.

Kind of like a balloon deflating!

Balloon Artist and Face Painter for Charity and Community Events in Tampa, St. Petersburg, Clearwater, Orlando, Spring Hill, Brooksville, Lutz, Land O Lakes, New Port Richey, Tarpon Springs, Wesley Chapel, Etc.

“Thank you!!!! For an amazing party today! The kids as always loved you!!!”
-Nicole Santana

We (Tony the Balloon Guy and Face Painter Phyllis) do balloon entertainment, face painting, etc., at a lot of community events and for a lot of charitable organizations.

Not as much as we do birthday parties, but still a lot.

Yesterday, for example, we did four hours of balloons and face painting for a community Family Fun Fest in Spring Hill, Fla. The turnout was great – we were going nonstop the whole time.

From there, Face Painter Phyllis and the junior partners in our family business went to do balloons and face painting at a company picnic we had done annually twice before, while I went to Tampa to make balloons for an Epilepsy Services Foundation event, which was a lot of fun!

Catholic Charities, Relay for Life, Crohn’s and Colitis… TONS of charities have hired us to provide the kind of fun that an event like that needs to succeed.

Sometimes the organization has built entertainment into the budget, because they know people don’t show up if there’s not something fun for folks (especially kids!) to do.

Other times, an individual will hire us as their way of supporting their cause, as someone did for a Relay for Life event.

And sometimes a company will sponsor us to be at an event. For example, at the Family Fun Fest yesterday, we were sponsored by WellCare.

A few weeks back, I did balloons at a very small fundraiser in Hernando County. There was no budget for entertainment, but Suncoast Braces hired me to come stand at their table and entertain the kids.

Sometimes in situations like that, we’ll work near a sign saying the name of the  company that sponsored us. In this case, I wore a Suncoast Braces T-Shirt and made balloons while Suncoast Braces gave away toothbrushes.

That’s me to the left of the slide, standing next to the dentist who hired me, and some of the lovely ladies from his office.

If we wanted to, Face Painter Phyllis and I could spend most of our working hours at events that are looking for FREE entertainment, but it’s hard to feed the kids and animals and keep the lights on that way. Plus, it wouldn’t be very fair to the organizations that find a way to hire us for what they know is a very valuable aspect of their events!

We are grateful to those organizations for that appreciation, and we always have a great time doing our best to help them create the fun, festive atmosphere that they need in order to achieve their event goals.

:-)

By the way, more than a thousand families like yours have invited our family business to celebrate birthdays with them. We are also a favorite at school, church, company and corporate events, including fairs, festivals, holiday parties and grand openings.

A 21-Year Low for Tampa Balloon Artist

“Thank you!!!! For an amazing party today! The kids as always loved you!!!”
-Nicole Santana

In August, I believe, of 1991, I (Tony the Balloon Guy) took a bus from Sarasota, Florida, to Fresno, California, for $69! Round-trip, as I remember. But maybe it was each way.

Anyhoo, from the airport in Fresno (most people had flown there, but – hey – only $69 to ride the bus!), the Outward Bound school took a bunch of us to the Sierra Madre Mountains for a week and taught us to climb mountains. So cool!

On the bus ride home, I stopped at the LA airport and, as I had planned, flew to Honolulu, where I spent three days at a youth hostel about two blocks from Waikiki Beach, and then I flew on to Sydney, Australia.

In Australia, I used another bus pass (it’s called Greyhound there, too, but I don’t know if they’re related) to go up the coast, over to the Outback, and back to Sydney. I bungee-jumped off a 150-foot tower, tent-camped in the desert, climbed Ayers Rock, blah blah blah.

Then back to Hawaii, where I got a permit to tent-camp on the ocean (free!) for a week. I got a bus pass for Oahu, too, and saw some pretty sights!

Then back to Los Angeles, where I spent a few days at a youth hostel near the beach in Santa Monica.

I continued my bus ride home down to San Diego, where I stopped a night at another near-the-beach youth hostel before taking yet another bus from Tijuana to Mexico City (about two days straight – very interesting trip!).

I spent about a week in a $6-a-night hotel room across from a KFC in downtown Mexico City and saw the sights, climbed some pyramids, etc.

pyramids

Then back up to California.

There, I got word that a family member had suffered a bad health crisis, and I stayed on the bus straight back to Florida. (She turned out to be OK, but it was a scary time!)

What has me thinking about all this?

As I was preparing to go rock climbing, there were not even hills to practice hiking up (Sarasota is very flat), but I was doing a lot of walking to try to get ready, and checking my weight all the time. At six feet tall, I was a little on the heavy side for such athletic activity, but not too bad: 210 lbs.

Today, for the first time since then – which was 21 years ago, I weigh 209 lbs. Somehow in that 21 years, my weight had gotten as high as 280 (that I know of – for a while there I didn’t want to look!!!)

So 209 is a very happy number for me to see today.

Yay!!!

:-)

If you get a toothache, and it keeps getting worse, don’t wait for it to go away until you get a terrible sinus infection.

Some of us have to learn things the hard way, but you’re welcome to learn from my experience and avoid all the suffering!!!
