Finding Tony the Balloon Guy

Sunday, November 8th, 2009

It’s funny to look at the reports of www.TonyTheBalloonGuy.com to see how people found us.

Although most of our business still comes from people who have been impressed after seeing us doing our balloon entertainment, face painting, pony rides, etc., we are getting more and more bookings from the website, and the website is getting more hits every month.

But some of those hits are coming from Google Images searches on the other side of the world.  And some are links from websites I never heard of… websites about how to make money (well, that’s flattering), the RV lifestyle (huh?), humor and optimism (yay!), etc.

Most are actually people looking for entertainment for a birthday party, school, church, grand opening, wedding, fair, festival, etc.  Fortunately!

Have a fun day!

What a Kick

Sunday, November 8th, 2009

Yesterday I (Tony the Balloon Guy) helped “kick off” the soccer season down in the East Lake area of Tarpon Springs, doing my balloon thing.  Lot of kids, lot of fun!  Next time we’ll have to schedule more time for me.

I love the way this job takes me places that I would otherwise not see, and to people that I would otherwise not meet.

Have a fun day!

Church Fun

Sunday, November 8th, 2009

We (Tony the Balloon Guy and Face Painter Phyllis) had some fun church jobs lately.

We took our carousel of ponies down to Bradenton (three-hour round trip!) the day before Halloween, to the First Church of the Nazarene.  What a huge festival they had – rock climb, bounce houses, even fireworks.  The line for the ponies went on forever, but we got a few hundred kids to ride in three hours.

Yesterday I did balloons at a smaller fall festival at Sea Breeze Community Church in the Largo/Seminole area of Pinellas County.  The people were great, and it was a beautiful day!

Whenever I look at the list of places we’ve worked (on www.TonyTheBalloonGuy.com), I’m always surprised to remember how many of those jobs were for churches.

If your church ever needs balloon entertainment, face painting, pony rides…

‘Til then, have a fun day!!!

Day Off

Friday, November 6th, 2009

Wow, for the first time in weeks, there are no balloons to twist, no jokes to crack, no ponies to walk, no faces to paint, no people to entertain…

Ahhhhhh…

Four jobs tomorrow!

Have a fun day!

Balloons Float, Right?

Friday, November 6th, 2009

Wednesday night, a gentleman told me (Tony the Balloon Guy), “I worked on cruise ships for 15 years, and I never saw anyone do what you do!”

He meant it the nice way.  And he took my card to hire me to entertain kids at a rental community he runs.

Maybe when the Junior Partners of our family business are grown-ups, Face Painter Phyllis and I should go tackle the cruise ship circuit!

Have a fun day!

What, No Thanksgiving?

Thursday, November 5th, 2009

I (Tony the Balloon Guy) do balloon entertainment at the Brooksville Denny’s on Tuesday and Saturday nights.

When I left there on Saturday, it was (literally) Halloween, and there were paper jack-o-lanterns, drawn by staff and customers, all over the walls.

When I returned on Tuesday, there was a Christmas tree!

Likewise, Tuesday I went to two Target stores to see if I could get a marked-down gorilla costume, and the aisles that had been full of costumes the week before were now full of Christmas trees!!!  I double-checked the date on the newspaper – yep, only November 3rd.

(In Old Balloon Man Voice):  Why, back in my day, we had a break between Halloween and Christmas…

Have a fun day!!!

Way to Go!

Tuesday, November 3rd, 2009

Last night at Chili’s, a proud couple talked to me (Tony the Balloon Guy) about entertaining at a Potty Party, to celebrate the little one using the potty now!  What a fun idea!

Everyone’s got something to celebrate!

Happy Birthday Little… Lady

Monday, November 2nd, 2009

I (Tony the Balloon Guy) don’t blog about every single birthday party, because then that’s all I’d do!  But since I mentioned it before, and I blogged about the 40-year-old’s party we did a while back, I want to thank the folks who had Face Painter Phyllis and me over to celebrate a geat-grandmother’s 90th birthday on Saturday.

Not only were we there, but families came in from all over the place up north.  It was a beautiful day (nice and warm compared to back home!), the kids were very fun, and the grown-ups were a great group, too!  We were glad to be a part of it!

Honorable mention to Khris, whose 31st birthday party I entertained at the week before!!!  You’re only 59 years behind!

Have a fun day!
